The Hazard:
Vitamix has identified a potential safety issue with the above containers. The container may separate from the blade base exposing the blades to consumers, creating a laceration hazard.
This hazard has been identified in the US version of these products, which differs from the international models. However, out of an abundance of caution, Vitamix has decided to issue a voluntary recall on all 225ml and 600ml Blending Containers and Blade Bases products globally. It is important to note that the New Zealand models of these products have interlock technology and will not operate if the lid is loose or not put on correctly.
What To Do:
A free repair kit containing a plastic shroud to attach over the blade base is being offered to remedy this fault.
